You can go non ball bearing gt 4202 for half the price of a ball bearing turbo. They will both take the abuse, but the non ball bearing will lag a bit more inbetween shifts.
The price on both the ball bearing and non ball bearing turbos is coming down because garret is coming out with a new line of turbos. They are just a hair better than their current line ups. A gt 42 series will get you deep into the single digits, but be prepared for some fab work.

This is a 74mm version of the TS372-42R turbocharger. Equivalent to a Twinscroll T4 GT4202R but can make more power due to the 7 blade compressor and higher flow turbine. Ideal for applications that need extra flow from the 74mm inducer. Spools slightly later than the TS372-42R but can make more power due to the larger compressor wheel. yea you can you know how to ride right if not ill show you its just really really fast its a 1000 i got up to 150 in like 3 sec its crazy but im bringing it down with me in june so i dont waste so much money on gas in my yukon..
